P&G Principle of Sustainability

To the greatest possible extent our fish is obtained from sustainable and ecological fishing. We do not trade with threatened or non-certified fish at all. Such activities violate our environmental code of conduct.
Our effort is backed by the Marine Steward Council (MSC) certification and for the aquaculture, fruit and vegetable sectors by the BIO certification, which follows EU regulations.
During product line and brand extensions we strive to find ecological and resource-saving opportunities.
Beyond that, together with our partners we care for fair and reasonable working conditions for everyone involved in the value chain.
As a trading company, we will not success one hundred per cent of the time, though we try to live up to our self-imposed sustainability principles.

MSC Certification
The Marine Steward Council (MSC) is a non-profit organization, which aims to put an end to overfishing of the oceans. Certain standards were developed to make this goal technically feasible. The MSC label is awarded to fisheries, which have proven to respect the MSC standards. Many of our fish products do have this label already, more will follow. Consequently, the consumer has chance to distinguish between sustainable or unsustainable fish.

BIO and ÖKO certification
Producers, retailers and importers are allowed to place the BIO label at the packaging, when the product meets the specification of the EU regulations concerning eco-friendly agriculture and farming. A good portion of our products fulfils these regulations. Our ÖKO-checkpoint is DE-ÖKO-044 – our identification number is DE-BE-044-00040-BCD.

Proof of Origin
Nowadays consumers want to know where the food comes from and whether sustainability was taken into account during all processes. To add even more transparency, our packaging does no only contain the minimum information required by law, but also codes, which aid to locate the fishing zones on FAO Fishhing area maps.
